The VCDO program, a joint initiative of Voka West-Flanders and POM West-Flanders, aims to coach companies in embedding sustainability into their business strategies. This award ceremony marks a milestone for participants in their pursuit of a more sustainable business world.
“Sustainability has become a necessity for modern companies in recent years. With the Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship, we provide companies with the necessary guidance and a network to fully integrate sustainability into their core activities. The results we see today are an inspiration for all of us,” said Bert Mons, Managing Director of Voka West-Flanders.
Vandecasteele Houtimport received the Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship for the 23rd consecutive year.
SDGs as a Guideline
The VCDO program is based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. The SDGs serve as a guideline for companies striving for sustainability in the broadest sense. Through coaching, experience exchanges, and external evaluations, companies are encouraged to enhance their sustainability efforts and create a positive impact on society and the environment.
