At Bona, we always focus on improving the environment for both contractors and floor owners. In the 1970s, we led the important change from solvent-based to waterborne coatings, significantly reducing emissions impacting everyday life. As Bona continues its journey for a more sustainable future, one focus area is increasing our use of recycled, renewable, and other non-virgin plastic solutions for our packaging. As a result, we are rolling out new containers for our primers and lacquers that contain more than 50% post-consumer recycled plastic. This development is one more step toward achieving our goal of being carbon-neutral by 2040.

PRIMERS - THE FOUNDATION FOR LASTING FLOORS
To create a stunning wood floor surface and preserve the flooring investment, a primer is key. A primer is optimized for an absorbent surface and ensures high application safety on bare wood for an even wood colouration. With a primer, a strong adhesion to wood is established, securing a long, durable life. A Bona primer follows the movement of the wood reducing the risk of side-bonding is great. Being the first product that meets the wood it will decide the colour, which can be varied from white to deep amber.
For many years, Bona has been offering a full range of premium primers, all optimized for the variety of Bona topcoats. Now we ́re adding the all-new Bona Classic UX to the primer family, with a similar colouration as the Bona Classic but with a significantly improved user experience. When the new Bona Classic UX is combined with e.g., the ultra matt Bona Traffic HD Raw, it delivers that trendy, natural-looking wood floor, requested by many home and commercial floor owners today.

The topcoats determine the durability of a wood floor. For decades, Bona has been offering top-of-the-line products and we have the Bona Traffic HD and Bona Mega families to show for it. We continuously develop and add new solutions, with Bona Traffic HD Raw being the most recent.
As durability consists of different components, such as resistance to wear, scuff, scratch and chemicals, Bona offers a wide range of topcoats to match various floor owner situations. When designing the surface of a wood floor, you need to think about both functionality and style. The durability, slip resistance and design requests need to be considered as well as the sheen level. UNIQUE CHARACTERS FOR WOODEN FLOORS
If you as a contractor want to offer even more colour options than the ones possible with primers, then Bona Oils come into play. Several colour combinations are available, for use as a topcoat with Bona lacquers for durable protection. If going for Bona Traffic HD Raw on top, the floor will have a unique ultra matt coloured oiled look, yet with the protection of a lacquered floor.
