The world's leading trade fair for flooring and carpets, DOMOTEX, will once again unite both worlds at the Hannover exhibition grounds from 11 - 14 January 2024. During this year’s General Assembly in Dresden, the members of the European Producers of Laminate Flooring Association (EPLF), re-elected Max von Tippelskirch (SWISS KRONO) as chairman of the Board, Ruben Desmet (Unilin) as Vice-President of the Board, and Eberhard Herrmann (CLASSEN) as Board member. The three of them will steer EPLF for another two-years.

Küberit edge and expansion joint profile with fire protection

Wide edge joints by themselves are a challenge for the floor contractor. When one protects fire protection joints, for example, the regulations stipulate wide insulation strips made of mineral wool or mineral fibre. This can be a challenge for floor fitters because neither filler nor adhesive may be applied to these strips. As a result, the floor covering has no grip and sinks downward in the joint area. As a result, the joint between the wall and the floor covering automatically becomes larger. With the new Küberit edge joint profiles, types 985 G - 988 G and the expansion joint profiles 985 S - 988 S, wide fire protection joints up to 20 mm can be bridged safely and permanently for fully bonded floor coverings.

10 key players in carpet and flooring industry give an insider's view of the future of their sector

Today marks the start of the second edition of Flanders Flooring Days (FFD). During this four-day event, 10 leading companies from the carpet and flooring industry will give everybody a unique opportunity to take a peek behind the scenes. From 22 to 25 May, visitors will be able to learn all about the manufacturing process, innovations and future plans of some of the industry's world leaders in our area, within a radius of barely 25 kilometres.

Bjelin, formerly Välinge Flooring, will participate in the innovative design trade show NeoCon in Chicago on the 12th-14th of June 2023. They will launch a brand-new rigid core range and display the latest hardened wood floors – all featuring Välinge Innovation technologies.

The focus was on the TRIO three-disc sanding machine, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Numerous visitors from all parts of the world took the opportunity to learn in detail about the machine and its many possible applications. On the test areas of the Lägler stand, they were able to experience live how the TRIO, equipped with the optionally available brushing discs (nylon, brass, stainless steel), can be used to create impressive, structured surfaces on soft and hardwood floors in the simplest way. Already prepared brushed sample boards with different surface coatings visibly and tangibly underlined all that is possible with the TRIO on the floor.
